City Council Committee Meetings

ARE CANCELLED

Governmental Operations, Finance, Legislative and Grants committee meetings – which were scheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2020, are hereby cancelled in line with City of Flint Mayor Sheldon Neeley’s closure of City Hall. This is to promote the health and safety of all persons in light of COVID-19 concerns. Agenda items from the Committee meetings will be addressed at a Special Affairs meeting, which is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2020 followed by a City Council meeting at 5:30 p.m.

Flint City Council


 

One of the most important functions of the Flint City Council is to review and adopt the budget for the City of Flint. City Council is vested with legislative powers and all duties as assigned by state law or city charter. City Council members are elected to serve for terms of four years.

Council is also vested by charter with the authority to make investigations into the affairs of the City and the conduct of any city agency. All records of Council business and copies of law and official documents regulating the conduct of the City business are available, at cost, to the public.

The date for the next council meeting is listed in our Calendar of Events. These meetings are open to the public.
