Applications must be submitted at least 90 days prior to the event date
The City of Flint looks forward to working with you to ensure your event is successful. Please review the Special Event Permit and Street Closure Application in its entirety before filling it out. Upon completion, submit the application, location map, a $50 application fee, and $250 security deposit to the Office of the Mayor to begin the permit process. This will be used to secure the date and for any cleanup following the event. Do not advertise any event without approval or you risk your event not being approved.
A request that will affect a residential area must include a petition with signatures of over 51% of the residents living in the affected area. One adult from each address who consents to this closing should be on the petition. Only one signature per household will be counted. Please use the petition form included on page 5 of the application. The information must be accurate and legible. If telephone numbers are not included, the signatures cannot be verified and the application will take longer to process.
