Administrative Hearings Bureau

Established by the City of Flint in 2017 to help define, prevent, reduce, and eliminate blight.

Assessments Division

The Assessing Department has the responsibility of appraising and determining the true cash value of all taxable properties located within the City.

Business Services and Permitting

Our goal is to provide streamlined, business friendly plan review, permitting, property disposition, and business licensing in compliance with state and local laws.

City Administrator’s Office

The City Administrator of Flint is responsible for the day-to-day management of all City departments working to ensure that goals outlined by the City Council are implemented.

City Attorney’s Office

The Law Office provides legal counsel, training and representation for the City and its officials; prepares or reviews all legal documents and proceedings affecting the City; reviews and responds to all requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act; serves as the prosecutor on all traffic tickets and misdemeanor charges issued for violation of the City ordinances.

City Clerk

The City Clerk of the City of Flint is appointed by the Flint City Council and is responsible for the administration of the Office of the City Clerk.

City Council

City Council is vested with legislative powers and all duties as assigned by state law or city charter. City Council members are elected to serve for terms of four years.

Elections

The Election Division of the City of Flint Clerk’s Office is responsible for the registration of all voters within the City limits of Flint and notification of voting locations to electors.

Finance Divison

The Finance Division provides Accounting, Accounts Payable, Budgeting, Payroll, Purchasing, Grant Reporting, and Risk Management services. The Division prepares the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and the City’s Budget Documents.

Fire Department

The City of Flint Fire Department is Genesee County’s only full-time fire department. As such, our dedicated team of firefighters and support personnel are ready around the clock and at a moment’s notice to respond to fires and other emergencies which endanger human life.

Fleet Management Division

Oversees the specification, purchase, repair, maintenance and replacement of all city owned vehicles

The Human Resources and Labor Relations Department provides recruitment, selection development, and retention of city employees.

Water Service Center

Operated from the Water Service Center, the Water Distribution and Sewer Maintenance Divisions convey water to your house and remove the sewage to the Water Pollution Control Facility.
