The Water System Advisory Council was formed in adherence to the State of Michigan Safe Drinking Water Act. The council’s 12-members were appointed by Mayor Sheldon Neeley and confirmed by City Council, and include residents, community leaders, municipal water and other technical experts. The council will work to improve communication between the city and residents around water quality, ongoing water infrastructure projects, and other water issues.
“Our goal this coming year is to engage advisory members and residents on issues to address maintaining a safe water supply, and quality of life concerns,” said chairperson Sheryl Thompson. “We want and need to hear from residents. While we have no formal decision making power we will help ensure issues or concerns are addressed.”
