Mayor Dr. Karen Weaver

Welcome to the City of Flint!

Flint is a city poised and ready for transformation; a city committed to reinventing itself by building upon its rich history, strong character, resilience, and enduring work ethic. Flint is eager to once again stand as a symbol to the nation as to what hard work, ingenuity, and perseverance can achieve.

City leaders are working to assemble innovation and creativity to make Flint a city of new opportunity, vitality, and livability. The City of Flint has a long tradition of innovation, and is now in the midst of a transformation phase. From a lumber center to a carriage town, an auto city to a diverse 21st Century hub, Flint is changing again for the better despite persistent challenges guided by our recently adopted Imagine Flint Master Plan.

Imagine Flint with neighborhoods that are well served with appropriately maintained open space and plentiful recreational opportunities to foster a healthy and active community. Imagine Flint thriving economically, with an abundance of diverse employment opportunities and a local workforce of educated residents trained for jobs of today and the jobs of the future.

Imagine Flint values its educational and cultural richness, building upon its history and establishing a new legacy for an engaged and aware constituency of artists, entrepreneurs, and visionaries. Recognized as one of the City’s most valuable resources, the youth of Flint are succeeding, being prepared to be the leaders, innovators, and doers of tomorrow.

You are invited to see what we really have to offer here in Flint. If you’re searching for information that you don’t see on our website, or if you have a question, you’re welcome to Ask the Mayor… I will get back to you at my earliest convenience.
