Mayor Weaver Responds to RTAB Vote

January 22, 2016 – Flint, MI – Flint Mayor Karen Weaver listened via telephone at the Receivership Transition Advisory Board’s special meeting Friday afternoon. Before members voted on a resolution to transition authority back to the Mayor she thanked the board for calling the meeting. After making brief statements of their own, the five board members voted unanimously to adopt the resolution which gives the Mayor the power to hire and fire staff. “It’s another really good day for helping to bring Flint back. I want to thank everybody for making it happen, the Governor and his staff, my transition team and the local and national media for helping us get our story out. While I recognize we have a lot of work to do, this is a step in the right direction. I appreciate it and so do the residents of Flint. I will continue to be responsible in how I and my team work to move the City forward, again I thank you,” Weaver said.
