City Hall Restrictions
City Hall closed due to pandemic beginning Monday, November 16, 2020 Customer Service/Water Department Payment Window – now open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. All other offices are available by phone for services and appointments only.
United Way of Genesee County
All help centers are operated through the United Way of Genesee County and remain open. Hours may vary on or around holidays. Bethel United Methodist Church: 1309 N. Ballenger Hwy. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Mondays. Asbury United Methodist Church: 1653 Davison Road. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesdays. Greater Holy Temple Church of God in Christ: 6702 N. Dort Hwy. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursdays.
City of Flint Office of Public Health
Water filters, replacement cartridges and water tests remain available through the City of Flint’s Office of Public Health. They also are available to assist any residents whose home need water service reconnected. (Additional information on flushing your house plumbing system when water service is restored.) Flint Community Schools: Effective April 13, 2020, food will be distributed two days out of the week, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. On Tuesday the meals supplied will be for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. On Thursday the meals supplied will be for Friday and Monday of the following week. GCCARD Senior Nutrition Services
Mobile Senior Nutritional Services are still available and accepting new clients. MTA has added an additional 20 drivers to assist with meal deliveries. Call 810.235.3567.

The YMCA of Greater Flint will be providing dinner for anyone in need. Anyone can pick up dinner and a snack for a child and there is no need for the child to be present. Feeding sites are operating 7 days a week. Food Bank of Eastern Michigan
The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan continues to offer mass food distributions and mobile food pantries in Flint and the entire region. Find a food pantry near you: Search by ZIP code (scroll to the bottom of the page) or see the mobile food pantry schedule. The Food Bank also has a calendar of upcoming mass food distributions. The Food Bank recommends calling pantry locations ahead of time to ensure they are open.
North End Soup Kitchen is located at 735 E. Stewart Ave. (Exit 9 off I-475, one block east of Saginaw Street.) It offers hot food 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-5:30 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. It serves hot and cold boxed meals food 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Sundays. Center for Hope Soup Kitchen is located at 812 Root Street next to the Catholic Charities Main Office at the corner of Root and 5th Avenue. The kitchen is NOT at the Church. It offers hot and cold boxed meals 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon-3 p.m. on Sundays. South Flint Soup Kitchen is located at 3410 Fenton Road at Lincoln Park United Methodist Church. It serves sack lunches from 11 a.m.-noon Monday through Friday Bread of Life Sandwich Program is located at 2608 Maplewood on Flint’s eastside. It serves sack lunches noon-1 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Flint Fresh Food Hub

Crossover Downtown Outreach Ministry
Crossover Downtown Outreach Ministry continues to provide free emergency food (groceries), clothing, personal hygiene items and household items to those in need in Flint and Genesee County. Located at 414 W. Court Street, services are available Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 2pm with a referral preferred. Referrals are available through over 100 area agencies including MDHHS, Wellness, Love Inc. and more. Call 810-234-2479 with any questions.

Small businesses, agricultural cooperatives and nonprofits can apply for low-interest if they have suffered substantial economic losses as a result of COVID-19. The loans are being made available through the U.S. Small Business Administration in recognition of the declaration of a state of emergency. Internet Access- Comcast
Comcast is offering an Internet Essentials for free to new customers. To sign up, go to www.internetessentials.com. This includes a video chat option for customers using American Sign Language. Customers can also call for service at 1-855-846-8376 for English or 1-855-765-6995 for Spanish.

Filing for Unemployment
Contact the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency.
The Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) is adding staff and hours to better serve an unprecedented increase in customers filing unemployment claims as a result of COVID-19. The UIA has extended call center hours by an hour every day 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday-Friday and it remains open from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday. Customers in the call center and online chat queues before closing time will have their calls or chats resolved that day.APPLY HERE
New Online Filing Schedule
Last names beginning with letters A-L are asked to file claims on Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays. Last names beginning with letters M-Z are asked to file claims on Sundays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays. Saturdays will be available for anyone to accommodate those who could not file during their allotted window.
New Call Center Filing Schedule – 866-500-0017:
Last names beginning with letters A-L are asked to call on Mondays and Wednesdays between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Last names beginning with letters M-Z are asked to call on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Those who could not file during their allotted window are asked to call Fridays between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The day or time of day in which a claim is filed will not impact whether a worker receives benefits or their benefit amount. Additionally, claims will be back-dated to reflect the date in which a claimant was laid-off or let go from their job due to COVID-19. Effective immediately, and until Tuesday, April 14 at 11:59 pm, unemployment benefits are being extended to include the following Michigan residents: — Workers who have unanticipated family care responsibility, including those who have childcare responsibilities due to school closures, or those who are forced to care for loved ones who become ill. — Workers who are sick, quarantined, or immunocompromised and who do not have access to paid family and medical leave or are laid off — First responders in the public health community who become ill or are quarantined due to exposure to COVID-19. Access to benefits for unemployed workers will also be extended: — Benefits will be increased from 20 to 26 weeks — The application eligibility period will be increased from 14 to 28 days — The normal in-person registration and work search requirements will be suspended. — If you become displaced due to employer closures, you can apply for unemployment assistance online. Social Security number, driver’s license or state ID number, names and addresses of recent employers, quarterly earnings, employer’s federal ID number and last day of employment are required.VIEW THE FACTSHEET
