SUBJECT: SANITARY SEWER OVERFLOW

On June 7, 2022 around 9:00 am, the City of Flint Sanitary Sewage Collection System overflowed sanitary sewage from a sanitary sewer manhole onto the pavement located near 2205 Mason Street. Around 20 gallons of raw sewage mixed with rain spilled onto the pavement. The discharge ended around 11:00 am. This discharge was due to the sanitary sewer being plugged. The City of Flint Water Service Center responded in a timely manner. The blockage was removed and the sanitary sewer was cleaned. As a precautionary measure required by law, the State of Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy and the Genesee County Health Department have been notified.
