Temporary water service disruption planned for Monday, July 27, 2020 for areas of East Court Street, Lafayette Street and Vernon Avenue

FLINT, Michigan—A temporary water service disruption is planned for Monday, July 27, 2020 for areas of three streets in the East Court Street area in the College and Cultural Neighborhood as work crews continue making much needed repairs to the city infrastructure.

The water will be shut off for additional work on the water line in the area as part of the East Court Street Rehabilitation Project. The impacted area includes:

• East Court between Lafayette Street and Vernon Avenue

• Lafayette Street between East Court and Calumet Streets

• Vernon Avenue between East Court and Calumet Streets

The water is expected to be shut off for the impacted areas at approximately 8 a.m. and be off for approximately four hours. All times given are estimates the exact timing of the water service disruption change based on findings made by the crew while performing work.

Workers will wait as long as possible to shut off water and will restore it as quickly as possible. They also are going door-to-door in the affected area to alert residents of the water disruption.
