Michigan State Police, Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division, the Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) and various local emergency management agencies ask Michiganders to participate in the statewide tornado drill on March 27, at 1:00 p.m. (EDT).  All state employees are encouraged to participate in tornado drills at their work locations no matter the size or location. Employees and visitors should follow appropriate procedures for their buildings during this drill.

Employees located in DTMB managed facilities should visit Inside Michigan for building specific information such as evacuation plans and shelter locations, the Health & Safety – Preparing for an Emergency-DTMB Managed Sites provides an in-depth overview of what to expect during emergencies that occur during working hours.

If your building is not listed on the Inside Michigan building page, you are in an agency-owned or leased facility. Employees located in these facilities should follow the Preparing for an Emergency Guide – Leased Facilities for emergency information.
