Thank You City of Flint Firefighters!

(FLINT, Mich)–  Mayor Karen Weaver, Fire Chief Ray Barton, Police Chief Tim Johnson and many other City of Flint officials and employees took part in an event Monday afternoon in honor of Firefighter Appreciation Day. An informal ceremony was held to recognize Flint Fire’s Finest for acts performed above and beyond the call of duty.

During the program, Jeremy Gilbert, president of Flint Firefighters Local 352, publically endorsed the union’s support of Mayor Weaver in the upcoming election.

  “Mayor Weaver has made safety a priority in Flint,” said Gilbert. “She has shown that she is a friend of firefighters.”

Awards were presented and fire crews took part in activities designed to bring unity and support to the department and the Flint community. Firefighters were also treated to lunch served by the Fire Chief and Command Staff.
