City of Flint Information on Weekend Military Exercises

Flint Police are currently coordinating safety measures in a training exercise in three separate locations in the City to mitigate any risk to the local community. Exercises are being conducted on the south side, east side and near downtown. Helicopters and small explosions are expected to be part of the exercise. The exercise is controlled and contained and there is no reason to be alarmed. The exercise will conclude later tonight. Sounds associated with the training may be heard in the areas of the exercises.

The Flint Police Department is aware of the training and residents should not be alarmed if they see any of this activity as precautions for public safety have been taken by both the military and the FPD. The U.S. military sincerely appreciates the cooperation of the citizens and local businesses in the vicinity of this training and apologizes for any disturbances.
