FLINT, Mich. – Flint Mayor Sheldon Neeley has issued a proclamation declaring June to be Pride Month in the City of Flint. Mayor Neeley cites the need to “secure equity for all identities, genders, races, ethnicities, and ages” and the continued work to “combat discrimination and prejudice toward the LGBTQ+ community, especially in the workplace, housing, and healthcare across the United States.”
In recognition of the “innate human value and equal protection by law of the LGBTQ+ community in the City of Flint, and as a commitment to continuing to build a community and country that promote diversity, love, and respect for all people,” Mayor Neeley has proclaimed the month of June for 2025, 2026, and 2027 to be Pride Month.
