This effort closely aligns with the goals of the Cancer Stage Shifting Initiative (CSSI), which is dedicated to improving health outcomes in Flint by increasing access to early cancer detection. By bringing advanced screening tools directly into Flint neighborhoods, residents have a greater opportunity to detect cancer at earlier stages—often before symptoms appear—when treatment options are most effective.

“Those who live here in the city of Flint know what it means to band together and help our neighbors, and that’s what this partnership does,” Mayor Sheldon Neeley said. “It helps build the capacity to grow our ability to address the health needs in this segment of our community, improving the quality of life for residents today and strengthening the health of future generations.”

This opportunity is extended to community members, their family, and friends to ensure broad awareness and engagement. Please note: Participants must be 35 years of age or older and cannot be pregnant.

Through this effort, more Flint residents will be able to receive timely, high-quality cancer screening services and appropriate follow-up care while strengthening community trust, and advancing health equity in Flint.
