Damaged railroad causes street closure at major crossing

FLINT, Mich. – The City of Flint is alerting residents and commuters of a road closure at a major railroad crossing. The crossing at 12th St. and Van Slyke Rd. is closed due to damage to the tracks.
According to Canadian National, the owner of the railroad, replacement parts have been ordered, but repairs would not be completed until early next week. Drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes in the area and are asked to follow all posted detours while repairs are underway.
