Community Safety Collaborative

CVIPI convenes the Community Safety Collaborative every second Wednesday of the month. This multi-disciplinary meeting gathers city officials, public health experts, law enforcement, community organizations, and residents. Together, the Collaborative shares data, coordinates resources, addresses challenges, and develops strategies to reduce youth gun violence and enhance safety throughout Flint. This forum ensures transparency, fosters collective problem-solving, and centers community voices in decision-making. It allows Flint’s violence prevention efforts to be responsive, timely, and effective.

Funding Opportunity

The City of Flint’s Community Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative (CVIPI) is a two-year
strategic plan designed to reduce violence and increase safety through community-driven, evidence-based
strategies. Recognizing that violence is shaped by a combination of social, economic, and systemic
factors, the initiative takes a comprehensive approach centering community voice, addressing inequity,
and promoting collaboration across public health, public safety, and grassroots networks.
