Welcome to Flint for the 68th Annual CANUSA Games

On behalf of the residents of Flint, it is my great pleasure to welcome all athletes, coaches, families, volunteers, and community partners to the 68th Annual CANUSA Games.

Long before I had the privilege of serving as Mayor of the City of Flint, I was a student-athlete who proudly participated in the CANUSA Games. I know firsthand the excitement of representing your community, the friendships that are formed through competition, and the life lessons that come from teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Those experiences have stayed with me throughout my life, making it especially meaningful to welcome each of you to Flint for this year’s Games.

For nearly seven decades, the CANUSA Games have represented far more than athletic competition. They are a cherished tradition that celebrates friendship, unity, and the enduring partnership between the communities of Canada and the United States. Year after year, these Games bring together athletes of all ages who inspire us through their dedication, determination, and respect for one another.

We are honored to host this year’s competition and grateful to everyone whose commitment makes these Games possible. From the athletes who have trained tirelessly, to the coaches who inspire, the families who cheer from the sidelines, the volunteers who generously give their time, and the sponsors and community partners whose support helps sustain this incredible tradition; thank you for being part of the CANUSA family.

As you compete throughout the weekend, I encourage you to take time to experience all that Flint has to offer. Our city is rich in history, culture, innovation, and resilience, and we are proud to share our community with visitors from across the region.
