SUBJECT: SANITARY SEWER OVERFLOW

On October 25, 2021 around 12:30 pm the City of Flint Sanitary Sewage Collection System
overflowed sanitary sewage from the Northwest Pump Station Diversion building bilco doors
located at 4545 Flushing Road in Flint Township to the Flint River. The overflow is the result of
surcharging of the deep tunnel sewer due to the storm event that resulted in over an inch of rain
overnight. About 4,500 gallons of raw sewage overflowed to the Flint River and the discharge
ended around 5:00 pm on October 25, 2021. As a precautionary measure required by law, the
State of Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy and the Genesee County
Health Department have been notified.
