City of Flint to Host MLB PLAY BALL Event!

What:      Free​, fun baseball event for Flint area children

When:​     ​​Saturday, April 22   Event starts at 1:00 PM, Registration begins at 11:45 AM

Where:​    Hardenbrook Park (Jackson Park)  310 E Jackson Ave.  Flint  48505

​Details:  ​ Major League Baseball and the Detroit Tigers will host a ‘PLAY BALL’ event to support and promote the creation of a new Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) program in Flint, Michigan.  Jackson Park RBI will serve as a low-cost baseball and softball league for young people throughout the city of Flint.  In addition to playing opportunities, RBI programs also emphasize character development and academic success.  Kids attending the ‘PLAY BALL’ event will have the opportunity for their parents or guardians to register them on-site for the new Jackson Park RBI program.

The event will feature bat and ball activities that highlight the variety of fun, informal ways baseball and softball can be played. These activities will include: home run derby, running bases and more. In addition, each participant will receive a bat & ball set to take home as well as ‘PLAY BALL’ T-shirts and wristbands.

Nathan’s Famous, a proud sponsor of ‘PLAY BALL,’ will provide hot dogs for participants.
