Temporary water service disruption planned Thursday, July 30 for parts of Vernon Street, East Court Street

FLINT, Michigan—A temporary water service disruption is planned for Thursday, July 30, 2020 for areas of two streets in the College and Cultural Neighborhood as work crews continue making much needed repairs to the city infrastructure.

The water will be shut off for additional work on the water line in the area as part of the East Court Street Rehabilitation Project. The impacted area includes:

• Vernon Street from East Court Street to Windermere Avenue

• East Court Street from Lafayette Street to Vernon Street

The water is expected to be shut off for the impacted areas at approximately 8 a.m. both days and be off for approximately 2 hours . All times given are estimates the exact timing of the water service disruption change based on findings made by the crew while performing work.

Workers will wait as long as possible to shut off water and will restore it as quickly as possible. They also are going door-to-door in the affected area to alert residents of the water disruption.
