CITY OF FLINT UTILITIES DEPARTMENT WATER POLLUTION CONTROL DIVISION PRESS RELEASE

For Immediate Release

On July 17th 2022 around 1:00 p.m., the City of Flint Water Pollution Control Facility had waste product from W2 Fuel spill from a delivery truck unloading into a frac tank. It is contained on the ground around the frac tank, and there is no impact to the Flint River or the surrounding environment. The spill ended around 1:00 p.m. As a precautionary measure required by law, the State of Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy and the Genesee County Health Department have been notified.

Please utilize your facilities to disseminate this information to the public as soon as possible for the protection of the public. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
