The first in a series of community meetings regarding American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2022, at Hasselbring Senior Center, 1002 W. Home Ave., Flint.
The meeting will be hosted by the Flint City Council. The City of Flint will receive a total of $94.7 million in ARPA funds to help address the negative economic impacts caused by COVID-19.
The money can be used to support public health expenditures, replace lost public sector revenue, provide premium pay for essential workers and invest in water, sewer and broadband infrastructure.
During the meeting, the public is invited to weigh in on how the money should be spent. There will be future meetings held throughout the community for additional input from citizens.
