The City of Flint is pleased to report that on November 19, 2015, Judge Stephen J. Murphy, III, of the United States District Court Eastern District of Michigan, Southern Division dismissed a lawsuit filed by a former city worker, Sammie Orr. Mr. Orr alleged harassment, discrimination and retaliation in the workplace. He sought reinstatement to his former position as well as damages of $195,000 and attorney fees.

The defense of this case was spearheaded through the City of Flint Legal Department, led by Assistant City Attorney David Roth and retained counsel Michael J. Guss, of Harvey Kruse, P.C. “This is another example of what a great team we have in place here and a testament to their commitment to the City of Flint,” said City Administrator Natasha L. Henderson.
