FLINT, Michigan — Flint residents have less than one week remaining to register for the Flint Water Settlement to receive a portion of the $641.2 million available. Residents also have the option of opting out of the settlement.

“It is important that residents review all options and make the decision that is right for their family,” Mayor Sheldon Neeley said. “While no amount of money will make up for what happened to us, this settlement will provide compensation for children, adults, and businesses impacted by the Flint water crisis.”

All registrations must be postmarked or submitted online at by March 29, 2021.

Registration instructions and forms were mailed to all Flint households. That information also is available online at Residents with questions should either contact their attorney or a help line has been set up through the court to provide information. It can be contacted by calling 1-800-493-1754 or emailing [email protected].

The City of Flint contributed $20 million to the settlement to benefit the residents of the City of Flint. It was paid for entirely by the city’s insurance carrier.
