City of Flint launches new satellite service center on city’s north side

The City of Flint Service Center will open to the public on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, with regular hours of operation Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The new satellite location at 4805 Clio Rd. will make essential municipal services and resources more accessible for residents with drive-thru service options.

Flint Mayor Sheldon Neeley and local partners will host a ribbon cutting on Wednesday, January 24, at 9 a.m. to celebrate the grand opening. The event is open to the public and residents are encouraged to come visit the new location.

The satellite center also has ample space for community partners to provide additional services to residents. On January 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Genesee County Health Department will be onsite to provide free COVID-19 and Flu vaccines.

“This new service center is a crucial step in enhancing community access to essential services, directly addressing challenges faced by many of our residents, especially seniors and those with disabilities,” Mayor Neeley said. “This center is not just about providing services; it’s about making those services more accessible and responsive to the needs of every resident. Today marks a landmark achievement for residents and I look forward to seeing all the positive benefits the new satellite service center brings to our community.”

The satellite service center includes a user-friendly drive-thru to better meet residents’ accessibility needs. Residents can stay in their vehicles to make bill payments through the tube system, ensuring efficiency and safety.

The City is working towards bringing public health navigators and police officers on-site for residents to share concerns, report crimes and receive public health support and resources.
