City of Flint announces trick-or-treat times for 2022

FLINT, Mich.— October 11, 2022

Families can trick-or-treat on Halloween in the City of Flint on Monday, October 31, 2022, from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

As always, families are encouraged to take safety precautions while trick-or-treating. Residents are encouraged to avoid driving in neighborhoods during trick-or-treating hours if possible.

Mayor Sheldon Neeley is hosting a free trunk-or-treat at Flint Development Center during trick-or-treat times on Monday, October 31, 4:30-7 p.m. Organizations are encouraged to send free trunk-or-treat event information to [email protected] to be added to the list below.

“It’s important for Flint families to have safe places to trick-or-treat,” Mayor Neeley said. “Halloween has traditionally been a time for neighbors to come together to provide a fun experience for our children. We want to make sure that continues, whether it’s in a traditional neighborhood setting or at other gatherings where residents can be in community.”

Halloween Safety Tips

– Carry a flashlight and wear reflective clothing.

– Avoid driving in neighborhoods between 4:30-7 p.m.

– Stick to outdoor activities.

– Wear a mask that covers your mouth and nose.

– Do not participate if you are sick.

– Wash hands often or use hand sanitizer.

– Maintain social distancing of at least six feet.

– Distribute candy outside, not in your doorway.

– Use a no contact method of distributing treats, such as a disinfected table or candy tube.

Infectious diseases are still with us, and the City of Flint urges residents to take precautions to protect individuals with disabilities and compromised immunity.
