Carbon Monoxide Detector Giveaway Friday, December 16

WHAT: Carbon Monoxide Detector Giveaway
WHEN: Friday, December 16, 2016 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
WHERE: Flint Fire Department Station #5 3402 Western Rd.

DETAILS: The Flint Fire Department is proud to partner with the Richard A. Battle Foundation to provide Flint residents with free carbon monoxide detectors Friday, December 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The most important step in reducing the risk for carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning is to install an audible CO alarm in your home.

Richard Battle, a well-known musician in Flint, lost his life in 2013 from carbon monoxide poisoning. His wife Tonya Battle worked with family members to create the Richard A. Battle Foundation in his memory to help educate others about carbon monoxide, also called the silent killer.

Detectors will be distributed on a first come, first served basis Friday, December 16. Identification is required. For more information, please call Flint Fire Department Lt. Michael Cochran at (810) 762-7336 ext. 5206 or (810)787-1323.
