Applications for 4th Ward City Council Vacancy Due Jan. 19

Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at 4 p.m. is the deadline to apply for the vacancy on the Flint City Council to temporarily fill the position of Fourth Ward Councilperson. The vacancy was created by the resignation of Joshua Freeman on December 31, 2015.

Registered voters who are residents of the Fourth Ward, 18 years of age or older, and interested in applying for the position can submit a resume with an accompanying letter to:

Under the Flint City Charter, whenever a vacancy occurs on the City Council, if more than 12 months remain in an unexpired term, the Council shall within 30 days appoint a person having the same qualifications for such an office. In order to fill the position for the remainder of the term, which expires in November 2017, a Primary Election will be held in August and a General Election will be held in November of 2016.
