UPDATE: The water main break has been repaired and residents can continue water use as normal. No boil water advisory was needed as the system never lost pressure.
FLINT, Mich. – City of Flint crews are repairing a water main break caused by construction work in the area of N. Dort Highway between Pierson and Webster Roads. Water service in the area will be shut off until approximately 3 p.m. while repairs take place.
On July 22, 2023, a private contractor struck a 24-inch City of Flint water main while working at 5145 N Dort Hwy. City of Flint Water Service crews responded and attempted to repair the break; however, the severity of the damage prevented immediate restoration.
In order to complete the necessary repairs, the City of Flint will shut off water service in the area from Pierson Road and Dort Highway to Dort Highway and Webster Road, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and lasting until approximately 3:00 p.m.
