Flint Launches Wellness Wednesday Initiative to Support Community Health

The City of Flint is proud to announce the launch of Wellness Wednesday, a new weekly health and wellness resource series beginning Wednesday, June 25, 2025. The initiative will take place every Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Clio Road Community Service Center, 4805 Clio Road.

Wellness Wednesday is designed to provide Flint residents with convenient access to free health screenings, wellness resources, and expert health information in a trusted neighborhood setting. The program is part of the City’s ongoing commitment to public health and community well-being.

Each Wednesday, a licensed Nurse Practitioner will be on-site to offer a range of free services, including:

  • Blood pressure assessments
  • Body Mass Index (BMI) assessments
  • Medication reviews
  • General “Ask the Provider” health and medication consultations
  • Depression and mental health screenings

In addition, a health navigator will be available to connect residents with valuable resources and services, including the distribution of free water filters.

“We understand that access to healthcare and trusted information is a key part of a healthy community,” said Mayor Sheldon Neeley. “Wellness Wednesday is about meeting people where they are, addressing health disparities, and making sure every resident has the opportunity to take control of their health.”

The City of Flint encourages all residents to take advantage of this weekly opportunity to stay informed, empowered, and connected to care.
