Court Street water main installation to cause service disruption to residents in coming weeks

FLINT, Michigan – Homes in the East Court Street area will be connected to a newly installed water main over the next two weeks, according to Spalding DeDecker, the city’s construction engineering contractor on the project. As part of that work, residents will see a short-term disruption in their water service.  Residents can expect a 30-minute to 1-hour disruption to their water service while their home is being connected.

Workers will knock on residents’ doors to alert them of the service disruption before work is done. They will also advise residents that after water is reconnected, they should flush their pipes by running the COLD WATER in their bathtub for 10 minutes. If the resident is not home, the contractor will flush the home’s water using an outdoor spigot.

The road and water main project was designed by Rowe Professional Services Company. Spalding DeDecker is providing construction engineering for this project, which means we are observing the contractor’s practices and ensuring the project is constructed per design plan. DiPonio Contracting is performing the construction work for this project.

As a reminder, traffic along Court Street from Crapo Street to Dort Highway is limited to eastbound travel only with no through traffic.
