Mayor Neeley lowers flags in honor of Flint legend, radio host Sam Williams

Flint, Michigan–Mayor Sheldon Neeley has ordered the flags at Flint City Hall lowered to half-staff to honor the life and legacy of Sam Williams.

For more than 50 years, Williams graced Flint airways with his voice through the Sam Williams Sunday Morning Gospel Show. Williams died on Monday at the age of 93. Mayor Neeley also is declaring Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, as Sam Williams’ Day in the City of Flint, which coincides with the day of his funeral.

The flags at City Hall will remain at half-staff throughout the weekend in honor of Williams’ service to the greater Flint community.
