Precautionary Boil Filtered Water Advisory LIFTED for Affected Flint Residents

Flint, Mich – City of Flint Director of Public Works, Rob Bincsik, is pleased to report the water main break that occurred earlier this week near Avon and East 8th Street, triggering a precautionary boil filtered water advisory to be issued, has been repaired.

“Once crews repaired the break, we worked to collect samples to test the water to ensure it was safe for residents to use without boiling first,” said Bincsik. “We received the results this afternoon and they passed. I consulted with experts at the Department of Environmental Quality and we agree the precautionary boil filtered water advisory is no longer necessary.”

City officials have lifted the precautionary advisory and thank the residents affected by this untimely, yet uncontrollable, occurrence for their patience and cooperation.
