Flint Launches Water Bottle Recycling Program

CURBSIDE PICKUP:
~ Republic Services providing bi-weekly curbside recycling at no added cost to residents
~ Residents with weekly curbside trash collection can call Republic Services at 800-438-0966
to have a curbside recycling bin delivered
~ Republic Services now providing clear bags for residents who do not yet
have bins and to use for extra bottles that will not fit in bins.
Filled bags and additional boxes or containers clearly marked “RECYCLING”, can be
set on the curb on recycling day.

BOTTLE DROP-OFF LOCATIONS:
~ Young’s Environmental Cleanup (two drop off locations)
Bill Carr Signs, 719 W. 12th St. Flint (Mon-Fri 8am – 4pm)
Young’s Environmental Offices, 5305 N. Dort Hwy Flint (M-F 8am – 6pm)
Dover & Company, 651 Hall St. Flint (M-F 8am – 4pm)

~ Schupan Recycling (three drop off locations all 9am-9pm daily)
Fire Station #1, 310 E. Fifth St. Flint
Fire Station #5, 3402 Western Rd. Flint
Fire Station #8, 202 E. Atherton, Flint

GUIDELINES FOR DROP-OFFS:
~ All water bottles must be returned in clear plastic bags
(solid color or grocery store bags will not be accepted)
~ Residents can use their own clear plastic bags or pick up bags at Fire Station 
 #1, #5 or #8

WATER FILTER CARTRIDGE RECYCLING:
~ TerraCycle is providing recycling service for water filter replacement 
cartridges for PUR and Brita
cartridges at all five water resource sites. 
 (Look for labeled containers)
