GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Manages, coordinates activities of professional engineering design and construction staff in the implementation of municipal construction and maintenance programs as related to master plans. Coordinates and administers construction and design business processes while maintaining alignment with the Metropolitan Planning Organization along with State and Local agencies. Supervises employees with multi-disciplinary skills who are represented by different labor contracts. Charged with meeting deadlines and resolving complex issues to ensure successful implementation and timely completion of projects.
 
MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
2. Five (5) years of full-time paid administrative and professional experience in the practice of civil engineering including responsibility for planning and directing complex civil engineering projects.
3. Two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory position.
4. At least two (2) years of above experience must have been in developing and managing projects such as street, traffic engineering maintenance and improvements to other types of government facilities.
5. Considerable experience involved in the planning, organizing and controlling of large-scale operations involving large construction projects.
6. Ability to write and speak effectively, work as a team member, make presentations and meet/deal effectively with others.
7. Ability to work independently, set priorities, organize, evaluate and present information effectively.
8. Knowledge of design/construction engineering principles along with the ability to communicate them to the public as well as to internal staff.
9. Ability to develop and maintain cooperative relationships with subordinates, other agencies and the public.

GENERAL
