Crime Stoppers

CCrime Stoppersrime Stoppers works to obtain information that will provide the police with investigative sources that will lead to arrests in unsolved investigations. Crime Stoppers is able to obtain information that is generally unavailable to police by guaranteeing informants anonymity and paying rewards of up to $1,000.00 for information leading to an arrest. Information is obtained through a highly publicized statewide (800) telephone number, (1-800) 422-5245 (JAIL).

  • Each week, Crime Stoppers publicizes a "Crime of the Week" - a serious unsolved felony, and solicits information on that crime or on any other criminal activity with the assistance of television, radio, and various newspapers throughout the state.
  • The informant is given a code number. The caller is known only by that number and from the outset, through the payment of the reward every effort possible is made to guarantee the anonymity to the caller.
  • The information that is received is provided to the investigating agency, which includes all local, county and state police jurisdictions, as well as Child Protective Services, State and local Fire Marshal's offices, the FBI, the IRS, the Welfare Fraud Unit, and jurisdictions in surrounding states.

A cash reward of up to $1,000.00
may be paid for  information which leads to any felony or felony fugitive arrest.
