Flint, Michigan – May 11, 2010 – Flint Mayor Dayne Walling will be joined by representatives from Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy for a community meeting at Freeman School, 4001 Ogema Avenue. The meeting will be held Thursday, May 13, 2009 at 5:30 p.m.

The purpose of this meeting is to share Diplomat’s plans to expand and move their headquarters into the Great Lakes Technology Centre in Flint located on South Saginaw Street in the ninth ward. The company’s current headquarters is located in Swartz Creek, Michigan.

In April Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy, the nation’s largest privately held specialty pharmacy company, received a $61.5 million tax credit from the Michigan Economic Growth Authority (MEGA) board for a new headquarters and expansion at the Great Lakes Technology Centre where the company expects to add more than 1,000 jobs over the next five years.

The meeting will provide residents with information on Diplomat’s long term plans for investment in the Flint community. Additionally, Mayor Walling will discuss the city’s commitment to the long term success of Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy in Flint. The community is encouraged to attend.
