Staff and Responsibilities

The Mayor of the City of Flint represents the needs of Flint residents and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of departments serving those residents.

His authority extends to running each department efficiently and effectively to provide the necessary services to the citizenry, including the safety, well-being and quality of life for all individuals.

He sees that ordinances passed by the City Council are enforced. He also represents the City at public and ceremonial functions while serving as the City's agent
and ambassador in dealings with other communities.

Also located in the Mayor's office is the City Administrator, who is responsible for enacting the Mayor's initiatives and for managing the day-to-day operations of City departments and services.
