1. Assets are people, places, programs or things that improve our quality of life and that make us proud. Our community is better off because they (assets) exist.
   Example: XYZ Church provides after-school tutoring and activities for neighborhood youth.

An Opportunity is something that has the potential to become an asset if given a little TLC. Example: The lot at the corner of ABC Blvd. and the Highway to Heaven is overgrown with weeds and littered with trash but it is a great location for a park.
