Human Relations
“Justice Without Walls”
(Conflict Mediation)
A volunteer, community based concept
used to res olve
misunderstandings and disputes
between individuals and groups in
response to complaints and requests.
This process encourages and
initiates constructive communication
across and within racial, ethnic and
socio-economic lines.
When the HRC receives a referral
from the court, the police, or
another resource, we try to help
conciliate and encourage settlement
of the matter. The result is a
reduction in potential violent
assaults.
