  1. Flint Police and Michigan National Guard Youth Leadership Program - This partnership will focus on Youth ages 16-18 that are at risk. Youth selected for this will earn their GED while in the 20-week
    program. Funding for this program will be provided by the Michigan National Guard.

  2. Flint Police Department and Justice Department DEFY CampThis ongoing project will continue. In this program at-risk youth are selected from the Flint Area Weed and Seed sites to attend a week-long camp. Youth at this summer camp are mentored by Flint Police officers and staff from the Flint Board of Education. The youth are transported to the camp daily by Flint Police officers and exposed to positive role models and experiences to help build character. Funding is provided by Weed and Seed sites in Flint through Department of Justice funding.

  3. Flint Police Department School Resource Officer and Liaison Program – This ongoing program will continue with a partnership agreement with the Flint School System. The project places Flint Police
    officers in Flint Schools to maintain a safe and positive environment within the schools. Officers will coach and mentor students on a daily basis. Funding is provided by the Flint Police Department and the
    Flint School System.

  4. Flint Police Department Safe Haven Program – This is a partnership with the U.S. Justice Department Weed and Seed Programs and Boys and Girls Clubs of America. The program works on establishing and maintaining Safe Havens for youth, focusing on positive after-school and summer activities for youth.

  5. REACH Runaway Program - Offers confidential help to runaways and their families, as well as information and educational services.

  6. Teen Zone: On the Web - Flint Public Library - Community Resources for Teens in Genesee County. Arming teens with information.

  7. Genesee County Community Mental Health - Through its Crisis Services, Genesee County Community Mental Health PIHP makes available trained professionals to assist individuals and families with understanding treatment options, and with crisis intervention during a mental health emergency.
