|THE COMPLETE COUNT COMMITTEE JOINS ELECTED OFFICIALS FOR CENSUS CANVASSING EFFORT|
Genesee County-April 15, 2010-130 volunteers including local elected officials will hit the streets of Flint going door to door encouraging residents to mail back their 2010 Census forms. The canvassing effort is sponsored by the Genesee County Complete Count Committee and the Urban League of Flint. |
Volunteers will gather at the Urban League of Flint, 5005 Cloverlawn Drive, Saturday April 17, 2010 at 9:45AM for training. Volunteers will be divided into 12 groups and will be deployed into neighborhoods across the city that have been identified as having a low return rate of the 2010 Census forms.
Interviews and visuals of canvassers loading the busses to go out into the community will be available to the media at 10:45AM at the Urban League Of Flint.
Volunteers will depart the Urban League at 11:00AM and return to the Urban League at 3:00PM. Transportation is being provided by the Mass Transit Authority (MTA).
