The City of Flint employs approximately 1600 full and part-time employees under the civil service system.
The many different departments provide such community services as police and fire protection, parks,
golf, and recreational facilities, street and sewer construction and maintenance, sanitation, water supply,
water pollution control, airport, community development, and many others.

Medical standards: Employment with the City of Flint is contingent on meeting the medical standards of the position. A pre-employment physical examination administered by the City is required. Any serious medical condition may be cause for disqualification.
Age: A birth certificate must be presented by a successful candidate at the time he/she is appointed to a position.
