Carriage Town
Geographically, Carriage Town is
the point of origin of Flint, Michigan. Its name was chosen in 1982
by civic minded residents of the neighborhood who were organizing
for community action against neglect and decay.

The Carriage Town name best describes the majority of extant housing
built when Flint was the Carriage Capitol of the United States. This
housing sheltered workers in this original walk-to-work
neighborhood.
