About Edward J. Kurtz


Ed Kurtz

Edward J. Kurtz is the Emergency Financial Manager of the City of Flint, Michigan.  He was appointed by the Emergency Financial Assistance Loan Board of the State of Michigan on August 9, 2012.  Mr. Kurtz will be operating under the requirements of Public Act 72 which requires, among other things, orders that satisfactorily implement the financial plan for the City of Flint.  He has volunteered to serve as EFM without salary or benefits; he will however be reimbursed for expenses.

Kurtz previously served as Emergency Financial Manager for the City of Flint in 2002 and has considerable knowledge of PA 72.  He is also past President of Baker College and current Chairman of the Board.
