Welcome to Flint Community & Economic Development

The Department of Community and Economic Development works to strengthen the long-term economic well-being of the City of Flint by promoting affordable housing, neighborhood revitalization, business development and job growth. The Department utilizes a number of federal, state and local grant and loan packages to aid in the community and economic development of the City.

Our goal is to provide leadership, policies and programs that will promote strong, vibrant neighborhoods and communities and to proactively encourage the positive and orderly growth and development of the City. Community & Economic Development advocates incorporation of the diverse interests of our community to reduce barriers and enhance leadership capacity to continue to improve the quality of life for all residents.
