O

ne Court of Justice

The 1963 Michigan Constitution created "One Court of Justice", incorporating the concept that the State of Michigan has a single court with several divisions.

The 68th District Court consists of the City of Flint and is a district of the third class with six judges. The Court has jurisdiction over felony arraignments, criminal cases punishable by one year or less in jail, civil cases up to $25,000, small claims cases, landlord tenant cases, civil infractions (traffic tickets), and parking tickets. The 68th District Court includes a probation division which conducts investigations, prepares pre-sentence reports, supervises persons convicted of misdemeanors, and operates a community service program. The Court is partially funded by the State of Michigan.

The 68th District Court is located in the McCree building at 630 S. Saginaw Street in downtown Flint.

The Court can be reached by way of the downtown exit off I-69. The court is on Saginaw Street between 2nd and 3rd streets.

Public Parking is available off Beach Street, one block west of the court building.
